Had the unfortunate experience of renting 5 bikes from Gulf Riders while on spring break in San Destin last week (4/6/14). Gulf Riders dropped off the bikes within 3-4 hours after we ordered, but once delivered, rentals were not the new, beautiful bicycles pictured on their website. In fact, the bikes were a huge disappointment; but, being that our high school girls were ready to start their vacation, we reluctantly accepted the bicycles and the girls took off. After about 20 minutes, we got a call. The bikes were difficult and UNSAFE to ride with rusty chains, loose steering and we later learned, dry rotted tires! I wish I could post the multiple photos we took on this site!



We picked up the girls and immediately (within one hour after they delivered the rentals) called Gulf Riders for replacement bikes. The person who took the call was immediately defensive and argumentative refusing to make ANY correction. In fact, she told us that we had agreed to those bikes and we were going to be billed for the entire week-no replacement offered like their contract implies. Needless to say, we were forced to rent NEW BIKES from competitor who promptly delivered 5 pristine looking bicycles that were in good working order.



Gulf Riders left their bikes on the premises of our rental property despite repeated calls for pick-up. We're guessing they plan on fighting our credit card dispute since technically we "had" their product for the entire "agreed upon" period. What a hassle for a week of vacation!



Bottom line. Avoid renting from Gulf Riders. What a scam operation!
