Jeff gave me a lot of information that is very helpful for someone who is just getting into coin collecting. I feel that I paid a fair price for the coins I purchased and I definitely will be back!

I recently inherited a large coin collection. I searched the internet for coin dealers and my local choices were either pawn shops or coin dealers with mixed reviews at best. I came across Don Rinkor Rare Coins and was impressed with the customer reviews. The main drawback was it was approximately 200 miles from my home in Sonora (not Sonoma), CA. Being that my knowledge of collectable coins was minimal I decided it was worth the drive. I spoke to Don by telephone the day prior to my planned trip and he informed me he would be in Long Beach at a trade show but his staff was extremely qualified and were empowered to conduct business in his absence.

I left my home at 4:00 AM and was waiting in the parking lot of the shop when it opened at 9:00 AM. I introduced myself to Jeff Brody, told him my story, and he began the task of sorting through 3 storage bins of coins. Jeff took the time to explain the potential value of each item, the factors involved in the valuation, and what I would be paid. He carefully documented each item. It took us the better part of the day to sort through the collection but at day's end I left the shop with a check that far exceeded my expectations. As pleased as I was, Jeff actually conveyed how much he enjoyed the process and how my most optimistic estimates of the collection's value was exceeded.

I also worked with Mike Rinkor. Mike researched a number of Chinese Panda coins and provided a generous offer that added to a great day.

The day then got even better. When I arrived home there was a voicemail waiting for me from Jeff. He informed me he had discovered a discrepancy and that I would be receiving a substantial supplemental check. Incredible!

This is an outstanding business. My experience exceeded any expectation I could have anticipated. I will not soon forget the day I spent at Don Rinkor Coins.

Firstly, who is writing this review? I am 68 years, experienced in business matters, and with buying, selling and collecting gold and silver coins. When I started to take this hobby seriously, I contacted all the coin dealers I could find from north of Santa Rosa to south of San Jose, and points both east and west of those cities. I talked to all those many dealers, and obtained quotes from them on what they sold coins for, what they paid to buy coins, and also gained valuable insight into the way they treated their customers. As a result of talking with each of these coin dealers, I formed opinions as to their honesty, integrity, and competency. My opinion was that only Don Rinkor [of DON RINKOR RARE COINS] had the qualities of honesty, integrity and competency that I wanted and needed in a coin dealer. After dealing with Don on countless coin transactions, over a long period of time, I have concluded that DON is a man whose brilliance as a coin dealer and numismatist, is exceeded only by his qualities as a person. Don happens to be a brilliant man, as defined by his numismatic competence, and his extraordinary and glowing ethical standards. I have met many smart coin dealers, however, unlike Don, the other coin dealers, in my opinion, apply their superior coin knowledge to try to take advantage of customers, in order to gain profit. Don is at the other end of the spectrum, in that he selflessly applies his brilliance IN THE ETHICAL SERVICE OF HIS CUSTOMERS! Don is what is known as a "diamond in the rough." He just happens to be a spectacular individual, and a person with whom it is a pleasure, and great privilege, to conduct business. And notably, in the process he selflessly and graciously shares his knowledge to help educate his customers. I find it is a great privilege to do all manner of numismatic (aka coin) business with him, and I am confident you will too!

Such an awesome place! They just remodeled and it looks great inside! So much space. Don is amazing at making his business flourish. He sells and buys things and great prices and tries to help you out. He sorted through all my coins and told me what everything was worth.

These guys are amazing! Everytime I'm there they are friendly and helpful. They pay well for scrap gold! Doesn't feel like they're trying to rip you off. They're AWESOME!
