The Santee Fire Department works to protect life and property in the community through fire suppression, public education and emergency medical services. With a fire station in Santee, Calif., its equipment includes fire engines, trucks, ambulances and rescue vehicles. The fire department offers services to a population of more than 60,000 people and employs over 50 full-time staff members. The Santee Fire Department has been operational for more than 50 years and provides community emergency response team training classes that cover a range of topics that includes disaster preparedness, hazardous materials, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations and psychology.
