We used them simply because we had an emergency and they were open on saturday. We were hoping to find a local (Saraland) vet for our pets but that didnt happen. Was not impressed with the quality of their work or their insane pricing. Went back for a follow up and had to pay to have stiches removed only to have the wound open back up once we got home. We will for sure be using Springhill animal clinic from now on. Springhill is much cleaner, more polite, and resonably priced.

I have used many different Vets over the years and I would rate Dr. George and his staff at the very top of my list. I trust the judgement they use treating my animal and I always follow the orders they give me. I had another Vet tell me one time that most people add to their animals problems because they will not follow the Vets recommended treatment. I have never felt that Dr. George or any of his staff had any motive other than the complete wellness of my pet. I am so thankful to have found the Saraland Vet. Clinic.

This clinic very well might have saved my puppy's life! I was made to have her fixed at 10 weeks by the shelter we adopted her from, when I picked her up from their vet, she was sleepy (which I expected) but upon arriving home she was using the bathroom and just fell over, she was shivering and breathing erratically and the vet said her gums were pale. I immediately called Saraland Vet and they instructed me to bring her in. After some fluids and medicine to treat the complications from the OTHER VETS anesthesia and my puppy's pain, she was acting more like herself and wanting to eat and looking SO much better. Dr. Thompson answered all my questions and took time with me as a new pet owner to go over everything. I've been using them with my other pet and will continue to use them in the future!

If you love your pets do not bring them to this vet!!! There are plenty of business owners that have more class and are more respectable than Dr George. In fact the good reviews he has were put on here by his staff. Trust I have seen what goes on all the way to the reused needles to save money to the torn up chain link runs dogs have got caught up in and if you board them from Saturday night till Monday morning they are let out to use the bathroom ONCE! So if they gave your pet a "complimentary" bath its because they were sitting and covered in their own feces and urine. They kennel food they feed is worse than old Roy that will more than likely give your pet runny stool then he will charge you to treat the diarreah and you'll have to pay it because of the release form you signed or your not getting your pet back. I could go on for days about why not to bring your pet but Dr Thompson is a good vet there and the staff works their tails off. Its just the cheapness and lack of compassion from Dr George that is why its so bad. He will charge you a $1000 and not even give your pet the courtesy of a new needle or a clean cage.

I am not going to tell anyone ...

I am not going to tell anyone to use or not to use this Vet but I will share this story and let you decide for yourself. We took our Poodle to Dr George after he showed signs of discomfort either in his back or abdomen. We could not tell exactly where it was but the dog did not seem to be in pain but we could tell something wasn't quite right. After a VERY quick exam the Dr told my wife and daughter that it was IVDD. We would have to pay $400 up front for treatment to begin and total could be more than $800. The Vet told us they would put the dog on an IV and kennel him in a small crate for a few days until the inflamation subsided. My wife called me with the news and I recommended she tell the Vet we would take the dog back home and watch him for a couple days and bring him back if we did not see improvement. Immediately, the Vet assistant called me to tell me this was not a wait and see situation and that if we did not start treatment right away, the dog would be paralyzed. I asked him how he could be so sure of this and he said that this was common and there was no doubt in the Dr's mind. I called my wife to give her the news to find out our daughter had already taken our dog home because she was treated very rudely by the staff. We called another Vet out of town who we were more familiar with and received very different advice than we did from Dr George. So we ended up simply restricting the dog's activity and watching him over the next several days and his symptoms subsided and now is just fine. This route costed us nothing. The final note I wanted to share is that a couple days after we took the dog home, Dr George called my wife's cell phone and left a message. Part of the message was "PLEASE CALL ME BACK AND LET ME SAVE YOUR DOG". I could not believe what I was hearing. I honestly believe he was trying to guilt us into bringing back the dog. In my opinion to leave a message like that was completely unprofessional and unwarranted and quite frankly upsetting to my wife. And ultimately that message was a big reason why we have found another Vet.

Took my 10 year old Maltese to Dr George because she was having problems. She had Diabetes and on insulin. I told them this and they kept her overnight to run some blood and other tests. Came to get her the next day and was told that she had eaten some diet food that they sold me. No special diagnosis except that she was overweight and had a heart condition (that we already knew). Cost nearly $1000. Took her home and she started throwing up. Would not touch the food that they sold me (she was always a great eater). Checked her blood sugar and it was so high the meter could not read it. Called the vet who had been responsible for treating her and he never gave her any insulin--said her blood sugar was too low. The end result that after not being able to keep anything down for two days, we decided to end her suffering. This vet's office had no idea what to do and they even charged me another $70 to put her to sleep. A terrible experience. DON'T TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS VET!!!!. They know she was diabetic and never gave her her insulin.

Saraland Vet clinic shares space with Kritter Sitters and are owned by the vet clinic. (Dr. George). In Dec. I bought a chia-pom from Kritter Sitters and picked him up on Mon. and on the following Wed he had bloody diarherria. I took him to Dr. George as soon as I saw his stool and he was diagnosed with coccidia and was given meds to treat this. Fri. morn the dog was almost dead so I immediately took him back and testing showed he had parvo. I paid $350.00 +tax $380.00. Dr. George told me he didn't have to refund me anything but offered $300.00, The puppy died. I bought another dog & took it to Kritter Sitters to be groomed and they said he had ear mites and were sending him over to the vet side to microscope his ears. Turned out his ears were just dirty(which is why I took him to be groomed) and charged $46.00 for the vet side & $31.00 to Kritter sitters for the grooming. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO SARALAND VET CLINIC!!!
