Adult & Community Education has been offering adult classes through the School Board of Sarasota County, Fla., since 1985. The programs are provided on a fee support basis to members of the community. The classes are offered in various centers, including the SCTI campus, Gocio Elementary, Phoenix Academy, Carla's Clay and the YMCA Euclid. The center offers language classes in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish, and lip reading and sign language to people above 18-years. The center s other courses include arts, literature, writing, social studies, culinary arts, and biblical, national and world history. It also offers classes to students in craft, dance, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, theater, and cinema and music. Its sports activities includes tennis, golf and indoor games. The center additionally provides independent and assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and adult community centers church services to students.
