To anyone considering ever renting a Harley from Harley-Davidson: don't. It's a trap. I was planning on renting one for a weekend to see how I enjoyed a Harley compared to my Suzuki cruiser, and managed to put a 4 mm scratch on the underside of the bike because the kick stand wasn't fully extended. 100% my fault, but the owner saw this and wouldn't allow me to take the bike out, and then charged me $480 to replace the entire cover because of a non-visible scratch. I had even paid the $25 accidental damage coverage (like you might when renting a car) but apparently that doesn't actually do anything. If I had caused this scratch after taking the bike out, I would have at least gotten to ride the thing for the day. I hope the $480 was worth me never buying a bike here.
