We had this Midas location conduct what is otherwise a normal routine oil change to our 2012 RAV4 LIMITED ED on May 26th. Unknown to us at the time of the oil change the mechanic forgot to put one of the 3 necessary "O" rings back onto the oil filter closed system. Roughly 500 miles later; Sat May 31 2014 around 730pm the car shutters hard after pulling off I-88 near Albany to get fuel only to find the oil had been slowly dripping out the entire time and the engine was out of oil. After 2 hours of work on the car to include a couple trying to help us out we finally get back on the road toward Elmira, NY (930pm). 50 miles West of Albany, on I-88 out in the middle of nowhere (1030pm) the RAV4 Shutter violently, low oil pressure light comes on again. We pull off and the engine is out of oil again. We stop at a gas station to get more oil and put in the engine. The car starts to shutter once again around the Oneonta, NY Exit and we finally pull into a Courtyard Marriott at Midnight now on Sunday June 1st.
We contact the Oneonta Toyota dealership on Monday June 2nd, due to the dealership being closed on Sundays. And after spending $280 at Toyota and learning the O Ring was missing and have to spending unplanned time in Oneonta, NY during a business trip to Elmira and several hundred dollars more on oil and hotel stay in Oneonta, NY; MIDAS still has done nothing to resolve this issue.
Supposedly the district manager has been made aware of this; according to the Local Store manager. DOUBTFUL!!! I HAVE NO CONTACT FROM MIDAS>>>>
I have even called the corporate office and yet no follow up; the PLEASURE OF CORPORATE AMERICA.
AVOID THIS LOCATION: CUSTOMER SERVICE IS DOWN THE DRAIN ALONG WITH YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!!

Provided by YP.comI would not recommend taking your car here. They destroyed 3 out of 4 snow tires while removing them from the previous year and we didn't realize it until we took them back the next year. The manager Pat, insists on having us wait for 3 used tires to appear and use those instead of giving us 3 new tires. Pat claims that it's "difficult to compensate for used tires"... well maybe he should invest in qualified staff so they don't destroy them. Our personal property was destroyed at this Midas and they will not compensate us. My husband and I have gone various times to try and get this resolved and all Pat will offer us is to wait until he gets used tires that someone is throwing away from their old car. Our used tires were good, and I doubt anyone will be throwing away good tires. To me this is unacceptable customer service. We have waited 4 months patiently and nothing. Essentially we paid them to have our tires ruined. After many visits with no resolution we are forced to file a complaint with the Attorney General. To add insult to injury, Pat personally selected one wrong size tire with a slash in it and one side totally worn and gave it to my husband as a way to get us out of his hair, thinking we would not notice. Save yourself the headache and avoid this place at all costs!
