The Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia showcases the handcraft skills of one of the South's premier grassroots art forms, and explores the historical importance and changing role of folk pottery in southern life. The Museum uses interactive exhibits to explore the Folk Potters of Northeast Georgia and how these family traditions became a unique aspect of Appalachian mountains culture. The 10,000 sq ft structure is complemented by an 8.5 acre campus that includes a Cultural Center housing a 100 seat theater and displaying juried works of artists within a 50 mile radious of the Helen, GA Region.
