This writer very likely did run into an issue with booking a stay at our beautiful inn because the response was overwhelming - both for us and for Living Social- but to state we “cheated” Living Social and this customer is disingenuous. We partnered with Living Social and worked closely with them preparing this package. We relied on their marketing expertise to put this program together perfectly. We were one of the first Living Social Escapes (within the first two months of the launch of the program) and we all learned a lot from the mistakes that were evident in this particular package – both the customer and this inn (we are not a hotel but a small family owned bed and breakfast) were disappointed in the outcome. Let me be clear - we explained to Living Social that of our ten rooms, only four would be available and that we always had a 2-night minimum on weekends. We further explained that during any special event, such as St. Patrick's Day, Tour of Home and Gardens, Savannah Music Festival, etc. we would not accept reservations with the coupon. We were assured that the wording of the voucher would cover the 2-night minimum (weekends only) and the "Not valid during special events" would cover all the festivals and special events held in Savannah yearly – the wording was woefully inadequate, however. We immediately began conversations with the Living Social representatives and through these discussions we came to an agreement: they would refund the purchase amount to anyone we could not accommodate. We made the compromise to allow one-night stays on weekends, though we still held to the special events exclusion. We had over 1600 room nights available for this special and still could not meet everyone’s expectations. As partners both this inn and Living Social made sure these people were refunded their money. We continue to book guests for the special to this day. Several very happy guests have written reviews on sites such as TripAdvisor or BedandBreakfast.com attesting to this fact. Please take the time to read those reviews and understand that we did not enter into this program with Living Social for any other purpose but to spread the word about our inn and Savannah and to generate more happy repeat guests. We are very sad that this writer could not be accommodated on their specific dates.
