Founded in 1999, Oglethorpe Charter School provides educational and extracurricular programs for approximately 400 students in grades six through eight. It offers classes in a variety of subjects, such as grammar, history, social studies, math, geography, technology education, science, and language and fine arts, as well as Spanish. The school administers art, drama, band, chorus, and health and physical education programs. Oglethorpe Charter School operates a media center that provides print, multimedia audiovisual, Internet and several other resources for classes and small groups of students. It provides opportunities for students to participate in a range of sports activities, including volleyball, basketball, soccer, cheerleading, and track and field. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation. Oglethorpe Charter School is located in Savannah, Ga.
