I'm normally not one to post reviews but I have had such a positive experience with Elmcroft of Saxonburg - and after seeing the negative reviews below - I feel the need to share my and my family's experience.



This community - that's what they call it - they consider "facility" to be a bad word - has truly become a new home for my mother. The friendships that she has made here - both with the staff and other residents - has been an absolute blessing in her life and in ours (her children's.) She is well cared for, enjoys many activities with her friends (both at Elmcroft and on trips they take) and truly considers that her home.



I was angry to see the post below because we have never, nor have heard of others, having any negative experiences. In fact, the staff is overwhelming prompt at handling any issues or concerns anyone has. Since names were used, I'd like to share my opinion as well.



Joyce the beautician, has become my mother's friend. Her hair is always done beautifully and at reasonable cost. When my uncle died (my mom's brother,) Joyce made a special trip to the community so mother could have her hair done for the funeral. This touched us all so deeply.



The administrator, Marilou, is always busy - never at her desk - always helping people. She's not one to sit and supervise. When we had concerns about mom's mental decline, Marilou sat down with my husband and I for over an hour, explaining the dementia process to us and helping us to learn to be okay with what is happening to mother's mind. She is also a nurse, we found out, and we've always been impressed that Elmcroft hires nurses when it's not a requirement by the state.



Jennifer, the admissions director, cannot say enough about the kindness and attention she gives to everyone. She knows everyone's name and remembered us months after our initial visit. She went out of her way for us during mother's move-in because of our crazy work schedules and always met us with a smile.



While I do realize that not every place is perfect, I cannot think of a better place for my mother. She is happy. She is healthy and she is loved. I would recommend this place to anyone...and I have.

Elm croft is a place to place a love one if you do not care about them!!! They take you around everything is fake you move your love one in an their miserable! Food is horrible , better to talk to residents an pop in at different times of day without notice. The nice thing is the beautician Nancy Not Joyce, Nancy cares about your love one Joyce hacks at their hair an style never stays in!! Their head nurse Jenny was fired by the state. A lot of problems with staff always short handed. Your love one has to wait for their pills! Don't matter if their in pain they will get yelled at by caregiver! The administrator is not people friendly at all yells at staff in front of patients..admissions person I think jennifer blonde very fake an mean to the staff! Her attitude is horrible! The head people need to come unexpectantly an investigate them! What is worse is how the office staff gathers around front desk an talk about people. Especially their staff bad carma! If by any chance you are uncaring enough to put a family member in their walk in a few times not letting them know you!! Get the fell yourself . Amazing how many residence come in an leave with in 60 days!!! I really hope this helps? Their is some other places close by Rose wood nice cheaper, caring. Concordia nice.
