"Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is show up." -Dr. Brene Brown
The first thing you need to do in therapy is acknowledge your strength and bravery for showing up- yes, literally walking in the door, but more importantly, being open and honest about who you are and what you're struggling with. All great change starts with SHOWING UP.
Therapy IS NOT meant to be easy. As a therapist, I believe in embracing our vulnerabilities during therapy and leaning into the discomfort that it often brings. It is in those moments that we learn to trust ourselves enough to make the changes that we deem necessary. I will push you, hold you responsible for your actions, encourage you to take risks, and challenge you to overcome your fears, because that is what therapy should be.
