Located in Schenectady, N.Y., Mont Pleasant Middle School enrolls more than 800 students in grades six through eight and is operated by the Schenectady City School District. Founded in 1931, the school offers various subjects, such as language arts, math, science, foreign languages, music, physical and health education and social studies. Its athletic activities include baseball, softball, football, lacrosse, soccer, track, volleyball and wrestling. The middle school provides a wide variety of facilities, including transportation, a bookstore, piano laboratory, library, cafeteria and playing fields. It offer a variety of extracurricular activities, such as student council, community involvement projects, electronic field trips, mentoring programs, jazz band, orchestra and student newspaper.
