It was a good meal. I went with my family and they messed up half of orders. The waitress was nice.

I went to amarillos roadhouse restaurant on new years eve 2008, and will never forget it. First the place was busier than usual...understandable. So my girlfriend and I was told that there was a 30 minute wait. We decided to sit at the bar. We watched as a total of 2 tables and 4 booths sat empty for 20 minutes and no one was being seated. So, of course I went to the hostess and let her know that there was plenty of seating now (an hour and 15 minutes not 30) could we be seated? The hostess replied " I am sorry sir, we are out of dinner ware and are trying to let things settle down before we seat anyone else". Fine. 15 more minutes and we were finally seated. Still didn't have any silverware and was not given any water or bread. Asked our server, Anna, for a blooming onion and she gladdly oblidged us. We had to eat our blooming onion with STILL no silverware, no napkins, and still no water or bread. Half way through our appetizer we finally got bread, but by the time we received our silverware the bread was cold! Was not asked if we wanted drinks, we went to the bar and got our own drinks! The bartender even apologized for the poor service. When the main dishes arrived we decided we have had enough and asked for boxes. Now when we are ready for our check, the waitress, Anna, asked us then if we wanted drinks! Oh and I ordered the black bean soup as well. First she brought me the wrong soup and when she came back with the right soup had no spoon.

Now, after all of that I will say this. The food itself was absolutely breathtaking. Not many, I mean not many at all compare to the taste of the food I had new years night 2008. But the service was gross and unprofessional.

The food is okay. The Prime Rib is fine. The service is terrible. My family and I went there for the last time about one month ago. We were put in a booth next to a large family having a party. We requested to move (the restaurant was not even half full). The female manager on that Sunday came over and let us know that they were very "busy" that day and there was not anyplace else to put us. She was quite nasty, and then began to say they had a lot of birthday parties that day and it was a tough day. After some back and forth, of course we moved to another table. I will never pay money to be mistreated again. Have a nice economic hardtimes life Amarillo.
