I do not recommend DS Contracting he did some remodeling at my home which he was given $5,000 down at the start of the job.The work was to only take 2 weeks to complete. It ended up being 2 months with only half of the work being finished. He installed vinyl flooring and he measured wrong so he had to piece the flooring to fit so you can see where the flooring was pieced. He moved my china cabniet from the kitchen into the livingroom in which broke off one of the legs also the top piece of the china cabinet he opened the door and nailed the back part of the cabinet into the livingroom wall.Twice we had to cancel the appotntment with the company that was installing the granite counter top in the kitchen.because the contractor was to have all of the bottom cabniets in place so they could do the template before installing the counter top he only had one bottom cabinet installed which took him a week and a half to do.He missed 2 days of work where he didn't even call to let us know he wouldn't becoming. On the 3rd day I went to Home Depot to pickup an order we put in for materials before they were shipped back in which he was to pick up and never did .When I returned home to find him inside of my house after my neighbor informed me that he watched the contractor take a ladder and climbed up to the 2nd floor bathroom window which he opened the window and climbed in.When I went inside the porch door and I went to the kitchen door to unlook it. I saw where he must of tried to break one of the 3 kitchen door windows to try to unlock the door from the insided but failed to do so because the window was not glass but plexy glass which is harder to break he only cracked the window plus where he put the ladder to climb up in order to break in he smashed the cellar window with the ladder. Now when I go in and ask him why he broke into my house when no one was home he answers "Well I had to get in didn't I ?," so I could do some work"He also tried many of times to work to 9-10pm or longer where he would want to run power saws and drills when I live in town where there is a noise ordinence. He also tried doing work he wasn't hired to do to make the job last longer. He ripped up someof the out side pavement that was cracked and then took the rubber mats that my husband had on the dirt to park his motorcycle on he put them down where he ripped up the pavement. He never even asked if he could do that but just took it upon himself like it was his home and just did what he wanted to do.There were alot of things he just did what he wanted to do without asking us if he could. We had a wooden bed frame stored in the cellar.he used the bed frame wood to try and jack up and level the kitchen floor in which he made the floor worse then what it was. He took some of the wood from the bed frame when no one told him he could use the bed frame wood nor did he ask if he could use the wood and nailed the wood on the sides of the floor beams in the cellar under the kitchen floor and nailed at least 100 nails into each beam on both sides of each of the 8 floor beams which by nailing that many nails in to each side of the beams the only thing he did was shattered the wooden beams. One night at 10pm after telling him he could not work past 9 pm .I came downstairs to lock up thinking he already left and I could hear water running I go down in my basement and the water for the outside hose is turned on so I looked out my cellar window and there he is hosing off my enclosed porch windows at 10 pm when no one told him to do that nor was he hired to do that. Sad thing was he never completed the work he was hired to do he just called one morning after not showing up or calling us for 4 days and told my husbsand he quit and would be coming to pick up his tools .He was given $5000 at the start of the job even though we never got a written estimate from him just a verbal one.he had the nerve to give my husband a bill for almost $6,000 when he never finished the work and all th
