Established in 1970, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, also known as PennDOT, oversees programs and activities related to urban and rural public transit, airports, railroads, ports and waterways. The department operates various transportation stations and administers the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Bank program. It is a part of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
