Provided by YP.comNormally I like to shop locally, but the Scituate Music Center’s owner is very very rude. He tried to dictate the type of guitar my son should learn on. My wife and son came home with an electric guitar and I wanted him to have an acoustic. I ask my wife to exchange it and the owner, Mr. McMorrow refused to exchange it. He told my wife that I would have to go to the store and explain to him why I wanted it exchanged.
I had to leave my yard work to deal with this.
I went to the store. Determined to be polite I went into the Scituate Music Center and asked Mr. McMorrow to return our funds. I explained that I was not interested in an argument but he was determined to get one out of me. I stood there for 10 minutes just asking, “ May I have my money back please.” He insulted me several times but I stuck to my mantra, “May I have my money back please.” He tried to offer an exchange for the acoustic but I explained that I was not longer interested.
He tried giving me just my money back for the guitar and not the electric tuner but I explained that this was an all or nothing arrangement. It took the threat of small claims court to convince him of my resolve. Even walking out the door he hurled two more insults. I like to support local business but I will not be supporting this one.

Provided by YP.comI was looking for an american strat deluxe. I wanted it in a cherry burst. Instead og calling arround, i simply went to the guitar center. They only had three examples. I actually went to three Guitar centers, before thinking i had better call arround. I called arround and the only one was in wocester, so i gave up for that day.
On a whim, i decided to call scituate music as i was from Kingston and Scituate was more or less on my way home. Sure enough he had one. And the price was less than what guitar center was charging. Also there were about 5 exaples of the particular model i was interrested in.
The place is overflowing with all kinds of musical instruments.
At another time i had bought my son a used keyboard there and was also happy with the price and quality. I found the owner very helpful. It was easy to pick his brain and get to where i wanted.
Anyway thumbs up to this store.
Thanks
Jerry

Provided by YP.comThe owner is the most unfriendly person I ever met who tries to sell you ridiculously overpriced items that you don't need. I wanted a planet waves humidifier and rather than saying we don't have that here but this is what we DO offer he replied "Why would you ever want to buy one of those?" with scorn. I replied becuase it's not as obtrusive as the snake ones that have the tubes and are less likely to damage my acoustic guitar. He laughed in my face. Then I said Ok, how about a tuner. He tried to sell me a fender tuner $20 over the market price that was purple and sparkly. (I'm a guy). I told him I didn't need that serious of a tuner because the main difference between that and a lesser tuner was that you could plug in an ELECTRIC and tune your guitar still. I told him again that I didn't have an electric guitar and he walked away in disgust. Don't your time or money. I prefer the friendly people at Matt's Music. I bought drums from them in highschool and purchased my martin acoustic at guitar center. Save yourself the trouble.
