The Thrift Shop has done much to upgrade its appearance. The Shop receives numerous praise from shoppers about our window and topper displays. Windows are changed monthly. The new shop at 1741 Second Street has a boutique look at fair prices. Merchandise is new or gently used. A new collectibles department is available. Also better china and housewares are being sold.

This thrift shop has been in town for many, many years yet I never bothered to go in because the window displays just show old, used clothes. It wasn't until I met someone who volunteers there that I learned that other, more interesting items are for sale, too. If you like books and bric-a-brac at good prices, this is the place to go. Of course, that is noted on the windows but when you drive by you don't have a chance to read the print. The volunteers are nice, too. I think the store would attract a lot more passers-by if other items were placed in the large, storefront windows. It really is decieving with the very, very boring window displays. Also, since it is a 100% volunteer, not-for-profit organization that does much good for the community, it should be more prominently posted as such. I only shop in such places for used items and only donate to worthy causes. Not everyone shops for used clothes. Some of us look for "fun stuff". I found some really "fun stuff" on my visit and will be back soon.
