Scott County School District 2 has a student enrollment of approximately 2,900 students. It serves students in an alternative school, one middle school, one high school and four elementary schools. The district employs more than 180 certified staff members and over 150 noncertified personnel. Its schools curricula include language arts, social studies, science, health and physical education, mathematics, technology education and foreign languages. The district operates through curriculum, athletics, administration and transportation departments. Its schools offer a variety of sports activities, such as tennis, cross country, cheerleading, soccer, golf, basketball, wrestling, swimming, diving, softball, baseball, volleyball, and track and field. In addition, Scott County School District 2 offers special education programs for students with various disabilities. Its schools feature libraries that provide a range of print and multimedia reading and reference resources. The district is located in Scottsburg, Ind.
