I was extremely displeased with the job this shop did on my boat. I took my runabout boat in with a seam that had come apart on the flat lid covering the motor. Owner looked at it, said he could fix it but recommended that all the vinyl be restitched to prevent other seams from separating. I agreed. Took the boat in in Jan. and they kept it about a month. When I got it back in Feb., weather was frigid, so I just put it up in its storage shed. It wasn't until Apr. when I went to clean on it that I discovered that the shop had basically trashed my boat. All the seams were sewn with the wrong size thread. (yes, it makes a difference). There was a vertical split in vinyl, which had not been there earlier. All the upholstery looked like it had been thrown around on the floor and walked on. It was scuffed up pretty badly. Some pieces showed signs of having been pried off instead of properly removing screws and clips. None of the seats, armrests, etc. were properly reinstalled. Most of the screws were missing. I had to go purchase boxes of new screws and reinstall everything myself. These folks obviously don't care about other people's property. If you have something you care about, DON'T leave it with Stephen's Upholstery!
