Opened in 1963, Seaford Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through grade five. It is accredited by the Virginia Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The school s after-school programs include homework assistance, sports activities and snacks. Seaford Elementary School also offers the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) program and gifted and talented education. Its academic curriculum includes programs in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school has a media center that offers an accelerated reader program to encourage students to read books. The school building houses a cafeteria, gymnasium, clinic, several outdoor play areas, soccer, football, baseball and basketball courts, and nearly 25 classrooms. Seaford Elementary School is located in Yorktown, Va., and is a part of the York County School Division.
