I started quilting 3 years ago and Creative Threads has the largest selection of the best quilt fabrics of any quilt shop I have been in. Last year my husband and I "shop hopped" from Texas to Pennsylvania and I still believe she has the largest selection of any privately owned quilt shop I have been in.

I am taking sewing lessons which are only $10 per hour. That is for private sewing lessons! My teacher, Nell, has sewn for years and is teaching me all the little details that make the garment look a nicer.The owner, Gail, has a lot of knowledge about sewing, too, and can also help you with your quilting needs. This place is in downtown Sealy, about twenty minutes from Katy (without all the traffic and noise). They also have a quilting machine, lots of lovely fabric, and supplies for knitting as well. If you like going to a place where the people actually know how to sew instead of places like Joanne's and Hancock Fabrics where they usually do not, travel west on I-10, exit 720, turn left on 36, right on Main Street and left on Fowlkes Street. Even the building has that old time charm with real wood floors and tall ceilings. I found this place by accident but I will keep going back!
