The City University of Seattle, also known as CityU, is one of the Northwest's largest private, nonprofit institutions of higher education. Founded in 1973, it offers degrees and certificates at the undergraduate and graduate levels in various academic fields. The university also provides distance learning and continuing education programs. The City University of Seattle s curriculum includes classes in accounting, business administration, information systems, marketing, and project and technology management. It also conducts programs in the fields of general studies, communications, psychology, gerontology, counseling and family therapy. The university s business programs are approved by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). The City University of Seattle is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. It is headquartered in Bellevue, Wash.
