I have lived in the Santa Fe R...

I have lived in the Santa Fe Ridge Apt. complex in Silverdale for almost 3 years. You don't want to live here! We chose a first floor apartment because we had a young child. If I had known back then that the upstairs neighbors can make as much noise as they want and get away with it, I would've gone elsewhere or moved up a floor! At first glance, the apartments seem nice. However, when you get the chance to move in and actually look around...you change your mind. These apartments were cheaply built and then they charge you out the rear! The appliances are old and have white paint splattered on them, the doors are covered in veneer (and are peeling or have the veneer ripped off in places), walls are cracked, toilets don't work or they've been jerry rigged instead of fixed properly, rooms do not have light fixtures, no ac...the list goes on and on. If we have learned anything from living here, DON'T LIVE IN APARTMENT COMPLEXES!! What tops everything is that the management doesn't take complaints seriously. Covered parking is for residents only and one spot is assigned to each apartment. There are certain people who park wherever they please (in covered spots) and they have yet to be ticketed as the lease states. We plan on moving shortly and will find a home to rent. Never again!

I have lived in Maplewood Park...

I have lived in Maplewood Park apartments for approx. 7 months now. Our lease was up at the end of June and we are currently looking to move out of this place as soon as possible. I have never lived in such a horrible place in my life. The staff doesn't do anything to help save their residents and has a huge turnover rate. When our lease was close to being up they were supposed to send us a letter advising us of our options to renew or go month to month. We never received it when it came time to pay our next months rent that wasn't in the lease so we just paid the regular amount we were to pay. They accepted my check and then 2 days later put a notice on our door and mailed a copy stating we had 10 days to pay the $75 additional in rent and a $85 late fee for a total of another $160. We went to the office to address the fact that we paid rent on time and they told us then that they wouldn't accept our payment and we had to at least come up with the $75 by the next day or we would be assessed the $85 late fee. They looked in our file and there was a letter in there dated for May 24th when the lease expired at the end of June giving us our options but we never received a notice on our door or in the mail (which is how they send us all other notices). How ironic we get the 10 day pay or vacate in the mail the following week but never did we receive the letter with our new options for staying. They said they mailed it so they must be right (NOT!!!!!) Also we have to pay for water, sewer and garbage here which is on average around $70 a month. They do not monitor the apartments well enough and people drive in here with trucks full of trash and use our dumpsters to empty their garbabe and us as tenants are responsible for the payment. Never rent from here. They are crooks and liar's and should not take innocent people of thier money especially when we are in a damn recession.

SKETCHY and rip people off!

I lived in a Horizon community in Oregon for the past year and half. I recently moved out and they have completely ripped me off, when I was a great tenant, never once paid rent late, left the apartment in better condition than I moved into it, and they have still sent me a bill for $800 in damages caused by their faulty appliances, by no fault of our own, and refused to provide proof that any repairs made were for something we caused as tenants. We did the right thing and went back to fully clean the apartment (4 hours!), my husband even helped the repair men with each repair during our tenancy, and they still have found a way to screw us upon move out. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and reporting them to the local news station where I work! There's no way these kind of shady dealings should be tolerated by good tenants who don't deserve to be ripped off!
