Provided by YP.comYumie and Dean Lawson of Zen Couriers LLC are thieves and liars. Honestly, I can't really say that about Dean because I've never had an interaction with him, but he is guilty by association.
I am a licensed, professional process server and was contracted by them to make an urgent same day delivery to a very rural address. We agreed upon a price and I received the documents. I went and made the serve, sent my affidavit of service immediately, and followed up with an invoice. Over 2 months have gone by now and I still have not been paid.
I called and spoke with Yumie on the phone who told me to send the invoice and she would pay right away. No payment was received. The next day I got an email from her telling me to contact their attorney because they were filing bankruptcy.
I looked up Zen Couriers with the Washington Secretary of State. Zen Couriers was founded in September 2014. They were administratively dissolved in 2018 for failing to file their state required reports. Their business cannot possibly be filing for bankruptcy because it simply does not exist.
Yumie and Dean Lawson are running an illegal business and screwing people out of their time and money. The biggest issue with Zen Couriers is they are putting their client's cases AT RISK by doing so. Now, instead of doing what I need to be doing, I am left spending time and energy trying to get paid for work that I did.
Public Records search did reveal that both have financial and criminal records. I'm not sure they are someone I'd be entrusting my sensitive court documents with.
Always do your research when picking a process server. www.napps.org has a process server listing of qualified, licensed servers that meet a national standard to become a member.
