I worked over there for the summer. Working conditions were not acceptable at all. We are CPR certified, and that's about it. It's kind of figure out how to do it yourself with help from the other consular staff. We did our part in being with the girls 24/7, but the lack of staff wore me and the other consular out. I was getting sick due to the amount of work we were doing for such low pay. With my two weeks’ notice, I left with one consular remaining who hadn't been trained because the owners didn't get a jump on really hiring others. There only source of employment ads was craigslist, with false advertisement.



Other staffing benefits, the riding instructors are actually certified.



The cooks, the two that we had their food handler license while the replacement did not. The replacement also violated some protocol for working as a camp consular and then disappeared leaving the already overworked camp consular to take care of that. We didn't have a lot of food variety and it was the same thing over and over.



For the girls who went there, it's a waste of money. They show up and get to experience about an hour or two around the horses a day. If you’re an experienced rider, you don't get to do a lot of things either. If you stay there for more than a week, guess what!? You get to do the same thing over and over and over. You spend most of your time doing crafts and taking a break. There are only one or two planned activities after riding horses. If you come here more than one summer, you get to do the same thing over.



The horses were taken care of to the best of everyone's ability. They are older horses so they can't do more advanced things. They were fed, stalls were cleaned, and horses were regularly checked out.



My recommendation is to not send anyone here for this camp, the owners changed last summer, so half the things the website planned or says is false. If you plan on working here, don't. It's not a good fun summer camp.
