I had always wanted to be a bartender but never knew where to start. I went looking around for a bartending job but wasn't get getting anywhere because I didn't know what I was doing. Taking a class seemed to make sense so I went to 1-800-Bartend. Jerry the instructor was great and really got me feeling like a bartender. All I can say it go look at the school, it'll make sense when you see it.

I can attest to everything Gary D has stated. Also when I called to convey my concerns about wasting my money and their false advertisement I was given a sob story on how the owner was new. That's great but get your stuff together before continuing the wrongs that the previous owner had been doing. Everyone in the class paid a different price for the same class. The physical classroom was a joke. I actually feel bad for Kevin the instructor. He was great and did the best he could with what he had to work with. That's the only reason I gave him 4 stars for instruction and 2 for professionalism. He never once talked negatively about the school. If it werent for him I wouldn't have returned for week 2. Shameful scam!

Everything about this school is a rip off. Was going to buy grouping for $99. Called school to find out info before I wasted my money and was told that $99 class is ok but if you really want to be a bartender you need to sign up for the 40 hour class. Oh and if you don't buy the Groupon we will give it to you for $299. We'll I fell for it. Well the 40 hour class really was only about 22 hours with the instructor getting there between 6:10 and 6:15 instead of 6. And dismissing class between 9:15 and 9:30 instead of 10 all 6 nights. Then 2 nights were guest bartending and with the 8 to 10 people that did the class you only got 20 minutes behind the bar. Then you get no certificate like they say. No B.A.R. Card like they say. You get a photo copy that looks like a kid copied it to show you took a quick ATAP course. And to top it off for (real price of class) your $499 you have to print your own course book they don't provide it for you. And in the PDF that is considered the class book there are numerous mistakes as recipes Are copied and pasted. In he Selden ny school 1/2 of the soda guns do not work. And you get over 200 old and barley ordered drinks crammed down your throat. 100% guaranteed job placement? Ha no such thing. They give you a website to go to. All the jobs on there state there not looking or never even return your call. Instructor kevin was a great guy but course is a waste. This school has got to be the biggest rip off ever. BBB is next.

Tmrw is my last day of bartending school & I can't say enough abt what an incredible experience this has been for me! I have always wanted to become a bartender & being a single parent what better time than the present to fulfill my dream. I asked a couple of bartenders, what school would they recommend. Each one of them w/out hesitation said you have to go to 1800Bartend because they will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know to be successful in this business, not to mention they are the MOST reputable. I called to join and to my surprise the owner of the co. answered the call & all my questions. They offer a variety of days/times to accommodate everyone's busy schedule. Jerry my instructor is full of knowledge & has over 20 years of experience so learning from him has been invaluable & a blessing. Not only has Jerry been my mentor he is now someone I call a friend. This co.'s reputation has helped me land my first job. THANK YOU Greg & Jerry for this AMAZING opportunity & new career.
