Provided by YP.comHere are the pros:
Weather! In this little corner of Sequim, conditions are always the best. Less wind because of the way the course is sheltered, less rain because of the microclimate, warmer because of the proximity to the salt water - all around, it is always nicer in this area of Sequim. I ve played several rounds here and met friends at other courses only to find windy conditions or 10-15 degree temperature differences.
Pace of play! The members all are friendly and play at the pace golf should be played. Four hours and change is expected. Occasionally, I ve caught another group and I m always glad that I don t even have to ask to play through... we get to the next tee box and they are relaxing on the park benches and request that we play through.
Challenging! The course layout plays through tree lined fairways. Being able to hit irons is required. The greens are very well cared for and roll is true. Out of bounds is only a few yards off the fairway in a few cases and it really makes you weigh the risk / reward on using liberal doses of the driver... learning where to hit makes for much better scores than driving a few extra yards (in most instances)
Atmosphere! Residents and members (for the most part) are super friendly! The staff is knowledgeable and always goes the extra mile to assist. They do a great job of making everyone feel welcome. On an unrelated note, the members are very active with charities in our community... scholarships, cancer research, food bank, boys and girls club - they seem to have a great time wrapping a charitable organization s benefit around a golf outing. I truly appreciate the time and effort these folks donate to our community.
Year Round Playability! You would be hard pressed to find a course that offers a longer playing season. The weather is so mild because of the proximity to the salt water and precipitation is minimal so rarely does it get much heavy rain. In addition, it s VERY affordable. Unlimited golf costs just over $100 a month - it s laughably inexpensive!
Cons: Not a lot to talk about. I suppose you could nit pick the basic nature of the golf carts (they seem a little long in the tooth) and some high traffic areas under trees that have been ground under repair for several years - but any real concerns I ve ever had, the club seems to already be aware and working to resolve the issues. They had a much needed update of the restrooms on the course and they are now quite nice. Pro shop doesn t have a massive selection of clubs and equipment in stock but they ve always been able to accommodate my needs at a reasonable price.
