Provided by YP.comDan's Optical really did a Great Job!! Had a good custom place over in Eureka years ago, but since coming over to Shasta County I've tried 3 different places before finally finding a real Craftsman at Dan's Optical. I wasn't in a hurry and just wanted it done right, and Dan Did! Really custom Wrap-A-Round lenses with Progressive reading built in that others had said couldn't be done with my prescription and that small of a wrap-a-round lens. My new glasses are the best I've ever had and Dan's has a selection of other custom Sports glasses that I'm really interested in. I won't be wasting my time anymore with going to other places.

Provided by YP.comDon't do business with Dan's Optical. We recently bought my husband glasses there. He wears transition lens and Dan advised him that the trendy glasses worked fine for transition glasses. After paying $500 plus, he cannot wear the glasses. We called and asked for help. We were told that the prescription was wrong and they changed it. David still could not wear the glasses. They made him sick and there was not enough lens for him to see the ground through the glasses (field of depth) thereby making it dangerous for him in his work. We go back to Dan and now he says that it was a subjective choice on David's part and that he will have to charge us $250 to order new lens and frames. We both asked him if this frame would be sufficient for transition lenses. So while it is true that he can squish the prescription into any size lens.....the issue is that you won't be able to see. Not very good consulting on Dan's part. Lots of word smithing on his part to make it all our fault and all our loss. Just be AWARE THAT transitions glasses need to have factored into the equation the field of depth a person needs. Dan sucks!

Provided by YP.comI don't know what happened to the first reviewer but obviously he/she had an unfortunate experience. I cannot imagine this family business treating someone other than with complete respect and courtesy and providing the best service. I have been wearing glasses for over 50 years and after all the vendors I have been to, Dan's tops the list. I travel the extra 15 miles out of Redding to Shasta Lake to get my glasses because they are less expensive and because the customer service is absulutely excellent. Don't let one disgrunteled, irate customer keep you away from a great provider.

Provided by YP.comUnfortunately, this business has the worst customer service I have ever experienced! What a disappointment they turned out to be. They are rude and uncourteous, they don't return calls, and overall don't seem to care about their customers. I would never do business with them again nor would I recommend them to anyone!
