Anyone who thinks this is a good Mexican restaurant is either a relative or has never had decent Mexican food. I gave it 3 tries and will never go there again. The only good thing I have to say about it is that the refried beans are good. The rice is inedible as they just put enough sauce to give it a slight color so it tasted like wallpaper paste. The food is served without the usual garnishment of shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes (either too cheap or don't realize that presentation is as important as taste). Everything on my plate was basically the same color...very unappetizing! Had to ask for sour cream and no teaspoon for the salsa.

Best Mexican restaurant in Shelby. My husband would eat Mexican food every night if he could! LOL! But due to my strict health diet I have to limit him to a minimum of 1 visit to the max at least 3 visits. Somehow though I find myself craving Don Ramon's cuisine more than any other that we have here in Shelby. Their menu caters to all tastes and have more authentic dishes than their competitors. Once you walk through their doors they treat you like family. Service you as if you were royalty. You never ever have to beg for drink refills. And their margaritas are simply out of this world! We have eaten at every Mexican restaurant in NC, SC, and a few in other states and this restaurant is by far the best! Food is fresh, spiced to your requests if you choose milder spices . Give them a try...you'll fall in love with them just as much as we have!!! :-)

The best mexican food I have ever had! The service is the greatest ever. My office workers and I eat lunch 2 to 3 times per week and my family visits on the weekends. The best thing is they allow my daughter's seeing eye dog to enter. The other mexican restaurant MP in Shelby threw us and the dog out. We love Don Ramons!!!!

The staff was very helpful and nice. I am from California and missed my Mexican Food going there they accommodated me making me a Carna Asada burrito like i have back home. I will be going back there before I go home again. The food is great!!!!!!
