Horrible, I switched over to them in December. My rate increased 40.00 this month over the same period last year. KWH was about the same.I am canceling tomorrow.

My 87 year-old mother received a cold-call from Discount Power and was convinced to sign up through classic hard-sell tactics. I knew this was a bad deal, but a little research revealed that is was way worse than I imagined. The company agreed to cancel the account when we reported to them that their "victim" was on the National Do Not Call Registry, and that the sales call was in violation of the law in the first place. We'll have to keep an eye on the bills for a while to make sure the cancellation was actually put through. Disgusting...

Horrible deceitful and unethical. 35 complaints to BBB and none could be addressed because the company would not respond. That alone speaks volumes on what type of company this is. IF CONTACTED BY THIS COMPANY HANG UP!

O. K.-- DISREGARD THE STAR - THEY DESERVE A ROTTEN TOMATO- I just switched back to C L & P today after a series of electric bills that equaled my car payments...unbelievable. Discount is absolutely no discount. The company deserves to be called out. definitely a "dead star". If I have to put one on the page I will but it reflects less than zero. I say stay with C L& P. My bill should have been at least one hundred dollars less than it was for the past two months.

I just received my electric bill and could not believe it jump from 0.098900 in December then went to 0.144900 in January and then for Febuary jump to 0.219000 I will be cancelling them first thing Monday morning talk about ripping off the consumer this is crazy stay away from them run don't walk. I won't even give them one star but they want to be rate that's a joke.

Doubled customer's rates without a warning. So much for deregulation in the electricity market. It's like filling your car's gas tank and the attendant tells you "oh, we just changed our price to $10 a gallon". Something is very wrong with this system.

I would highly advise to stay way from these crooks.

Discount power will gouge you. My rate went from $0.09/kWh to $0.219/kWh, over double in one month without warning!! Don't buy from Discount Power or you'll end up paying more over the whole year and you'll be angry to boot. Scammers!!

I would NOT sign up with Discount Power, my friend. This outfit is a rip-off artist. I know from experience. After signing up with them it took several months before my rate was properly set. Then I went to a "variable with a cap." Problem was --even with electric rates plummeting-- my "variable" stayed the same. It's way above what CL&P is offering! "Variable," explained their spokesman, "means we can vary it. But we chose not to." Yup. That's what they said. You want to deal with a company like that? I would rate Discount Power at no stars if no stars were allowed. Definitely.
