Staff is young and careless for the most part spending much of their time unsupervised and sitting at the front desk on cell phones. Residents are left to sit with virtually no activity, day and night. Food is from cans and warmed up as needed. I was horrified. The surroundings are cramped, outdated, dark and dingy. There was a friendly atmosphere until we signed the papers for my dad to be placed there. He never left his room except to eat and the food was awful looking and ill prepared. Dad was always dirty and rarely checked on. For the money it costs for people to live here it is utterly shameful. We were also told transportation to doctors appointments was included in the $6000/mth fees. We have been billed for and paid each one of them thus far on our own. He shares a room allowing him less than 1/2 of a hopsital room to survive in. We would not recommend this place to anyone that cares about their loved ones. There are far better places in Springfield at this price that offer pleasant, comfortable surroundings.....and a little dignity....to the elderly.
