Until This past January 30th, ...

Until This past January 30th, I thought Ernest's was the best dining option in this area. However, after having been called about a special celebration (anniversary) and ordering roses for the table as a surprise, this experience was
anything but great. The reservation was for 7pm. A Mardi Gras crew was dining and partied until all reservations were
backed up nearly an hour. The management did nothing to explain the situation, not did they offer to let those waiting
order a drink. We were packed like sardines in the snall foyer, eye ball to eye ball.

When we finally were seated, it was because my husband asked how far down the list we were because we were about ready to leave. We were seated at that point.

There were no flowers, the staff spent the entire night appoligising for everything, and when the bill arrived, we were the third table to be charged for a bar tab we had not made.

It was supposed to be another lovely evening of dining and conversation to celebrate our anniversary, and it turned into
a fiasco. As we were leaving, my husband asked what happened to the roses he ordered, and the answer was, "It was my fault, We were just so busy." This was accompanied by a shrug of the shoulders.

I think the next celebration for us will be ELSEWHERE!

Go somewhere else

If we had know they had two big parties groups, we would not have stayed. It was our anniversary night and it took us almost 3 hours to get to our main dish and we left with no dessert because we could not take it anymore. Difftently not worth what they tried to charge us.

My husband and father treated my mother and I for mothers day 5/8/2011. To our surprise we where treated with valet parking and escorted inside. They have remodled some great atmosphere. The food was amazing. I felt as if we had a personal attendant the entire meal. We waiting and wanted for nothing. Excellent service. Good prices for the food. One man is cooking the food and he is a GOD....WONDERFUL just WONDERFUL.

what a resturant should be

My family and I love Ernest's. We live a couple of hours away and come to Shreveport to the Centenary Book Sales every September and we always we at Ernest's. We come in tired and hungry and we always are treated as if we have arrived in a limo with our finest clothes on. The food is delicious and the service is very personal. This is what a resturant should be.

Awesome Experience in Dining

We have dined here several times in the last 20 years. We would love to dine here alot more but, because their prices are very high (but worth it) we can only dine during special occassion. We were last here for my and my sons birthday on April 2009 and even though it has been a few years since we were here our visit was GREAT! I had the Red Snapper and it was out of this world. The Marinated Crab Claws were fantastic. There was 5 in our party and everyone was Highly satisfied and voiced it on thier food selection. The staff and waiters are what you would find in a five star resturant in New York, they cater to your every need. The food was Fabulous and I and I very much would and have recommend this restuarant to anyone wanting a truly excellent dining experience. We can't wait for our next special occassion. Enjoy!

Top Restaurant

Many new and wonderful restaurants have entered the Shreveport market over the years and my wife and I have eaten at everyone of them. But we both agree this old classic still remains the TOP RESTAURANT in the twin cities. Whether you're looking for black tie (Formal Dinning area) or business casual (Club Side), Earnest's atmosphere is unbeatable, the service is Royal Class and you want find better food anywhere in the great state of Louisiana!
