Very friendly service, saved s...

Very friendly service, saved so much time here as opposed to the home depot where I waste so much time wandering around looking for items, and that elusive " help".
At TRUE VALUE I ask someone and they tell me everything I need to know about it.
I rented a tent, tables, chairs, and a bounce house, and it made for a great party. I never get this kind of help at home depot.

I purchased several bags of pellets from this store. They

store them outside covered

with a tarp. All the bags I

purchased were wet and had

to be wiped down before I brought them in my house.

One of the bags was so wet,

the pellets were ruined. I called and spoke to the manager. He told me to bring it back for a

replacement. I don't live

close and asked for

compensation for my time

and gas to do so. He refused

to do anything else for me.

At one point I wasn't sure if

he'd hung up on me. He said

, no, I'm just listening to you

rant"! I admit, I wasn't happy

about having to make a

special trip back to the store, but to say that to a

customer!? I will never shop

there again.Thankfully

there's other hardware

stores in the area, that I

won't have too. I will never shop there again!

My husband and I went to buy a weed eater. The gentleman was very helpful and explained the pro and cons of each of them. Once we decided on the one we wanted, he took extra time to show us how it runs along with answered all our questions. Then showed us the ways to care for it. HE WAS VERY HELPFUL to us. Also told us about the warranty that it comes with.

DO NOT BRING ANYTHING HERE TO BE SERVICED!!!! EVER! Probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I brought in a chainsaw to be serviced, they charged me $45 to look at it. When I dropped it off it worked, they wanted to charge me over $200 to fix it. $60 an hour for their service guy to work on it. I requested them to put it back together, and put it back in the same condition I brought it in. Instead I was handed a box full of parts that used to be my chainsaw. Now I am out one working chainsaw, with over 7 trees down, and $45. Worst experience ever.

I called True Value Hardware Shrewsbury, PA. to see if they replace glass in storm door windows. I was informed that it is against the law to replace with glass and it would be fixed with plexiglass. I took the window and dropped it off. A few hours later I went back and picked it up and when I got home and looked at it it was filthy and covered all over with spots of clear silicone, which took me 20 minutes to get clean. Then much to our surprise they used glass instead of plexiglass after telling me this is illegal to do.

When we tried to install the window in our door it was not fitting in one corner, which just so happens to be the corner this man worked on at True Value. The measurements were not correcct. So today I took it back to get it fixed correctly and I was told that the man who fixed it wasn't in today. But when the lady went in the back to see when he would be in, out the door he comes. I have never been talked to so rudely and condenscending in my life. This man laughed in my face multiple times when I was explaining what was wrong, told me the window measured correctly but he hadn't even measured it yet. The lady who waited on me measured the window and she saw it was 27 1/2" on one side and the side fixed was 27 5/8". This man told me I must have the wrong window for that door but it's the only window we have for that door and that my frame was brought in bent, which I can attest was not at all. When this man decided to measure it which he didn't seem to want to measure it correctly, he came up with 27 5/8 on both sides which was incorrect. By now I am not a happy customer and told this man not to talk to me like he was and not to laugh in my face as I was a customer and all I wanted was this fixed properly. Now mind you I was at this point so upset over the treatment I was getting and tempers were flaring. Whatever happened to treating a customer with courtesy? This man who fixed the window didn't care one bit what I was saying at all and kept on going how it was my fault and he did nothing wrong, etc. So I asked for a manager since it seemed I wasn't going to get this fixed properly by this man and having plexiglass installed instead of the illegal glass he used, by the way which is not even what was marked on the paper for him. Plexiglass was marked.

When the manager/owner showed up he watched me measure this and saw himself that the measurements were not correct. One side was 27 1/2" the other side, which was the side the repairer worked on was over 27 5/8". While this man continued to tell me it was basically my fault, I was a liar, etc., the manager/owner decided that he was going to kick me out of the store after he refunded my money, I was even told that he would most certainly believe his repairer over me. What?? I am a customer who took a window in that fit and got one back that didn't fit, was a total mess and fixed illegally with glass, while being treated so rudely by the store and the manager believes him over his customer, even after seeing the window was not repaired correctly??

I took this elsewhere to get what the repairer messed up fixed and they immediately told me this was repaired with glass which is illegal, and that they could see instantly that this had been repaired wrong in the corner the True Value man worked on.

So beware of this store manager and getting any window repair done by their repairer. Make sure you get Plexiglass not glass! I just can't believe a manager/owner of a store would approve of his employee's actions to a customer and not take action against him for adding illegal glass instead of plexiglass. Manager/Owner and repairer are so very rude and I will never shop in this store again. They need to realize that there is a Home Depot right across the street and other hardware stores and glass repair stores who are more then willing to get their business.

This True Value Plus in Shrewsbury, PA has the RUDEST manager/owner I have ever dealt with. My husband and I rented a pump puller from this establishment that was at best a hunk of junk! The pipes that were supposed to fit together to make it stand had the threads so rusty and mess up, you couldn't get them together. The tires on it to pull it wouldn't tighten up around the pipe, it just kept letting it slip back down the hole. When we tried to put air in the tires, the valve stems stuck open releasing the air. When I tried to tell the manager who informed me snidely that he was the OWNER, he told me to just stop talking, threatened me with never being allowed to rent there again...like I ever would...and told me to leave and don't come back. Now, I don't know if he's looked across the street but there is a Home Depot to shop at as well as any other BIGGER BETTER store to go to. I prefer Bomburgers in Lancaster..I will rent their puller again anytime!! It would be a heck of a lot better than renting a piece of equipment that watches you do it's job and not dealing with Brad Hittie.

TRUE VALUE SHREWSBURY is scam!...

TRUE VALUE SHREWSBURY is scam! I rented a bounce house for my sons party and it rained. We did everything we could to keep it dry. The tarp they provided had holes and was so warn you could see it through it. We followed instructions and tried to keep it dry but TRUE VALUE said "our efforts weren't good enough". The manager was extremely rude, customer service was horrible! Do not go here, its a scam 100%. Why provide horrible tarps when you are HARDWARE STORE!!! All said and done this horrible bounce house experience cost me 267 and thats not even delivered. GO ELSEWHERE! Some companies will set up and delivery cheaper than that! THANKS FOR NOTHING TRUE VALUE!
