Provided by YP.comThis is my first time using a credit union and I really like that I’m banking locally now. I feel like I’m giving back to Arizona! They support our local charities and it’s a great way to get away from the big banks. American Southwest Credit Union is a not-for-profit institution and that is a refreshing difference from a regular bank. I’m also looking at taking out a loan as an owner-builder with ASCU! Not a lot of lenders will do that! Usually they will tell you that you have to have a main contractor. But we don’t have a main contractor! We are holding the hammers and nails, and actually doing the work ourselves, not contractors. American Southwest Credit Union said it didn’t matter that we were owner builders. Fantastic! I’m only giving them 4 stars on their professionalism because some of the tellers are super friendly and smile but others do not. They have not been rude or anything, but it just looks like there’s no set standard for them.

My husband and I have several auto and motorcycle loans as well as checking and savings accounts through ASCU and every time we have ever needed anything they are ALWAYS there to help, they are very professional and friendly. I would recommend them to everyone.

Iâm very disappointed with the treatment I receive from this Credit Union. I have been a member of this Credit Union for 10 + years and I have always receive impersonal service and a lack of information. To make a long story short, I recently went to the Credit Union to ask if they had Pre-Paid Cards. One of the representatives gave me the application to fill out. I notice that there was not a disclosure statement, and the representative stated that it would be sent to me via mail. I was under the impression that this was the Credit Unionâs card! I notice that she knew nothing about this Card . I had such a bad feeling about this so I went back the next day and asked to speak to a manager and get a copy of the disclosure statement; in which the same Representative had to retrieve from the internet. This is not the Credit Unionâs card! This Pre-Paid card have so many fees! It also state that they reserve the right to give your information to a third party. Unbelievable! No one in the Credit Union could provide me any information about the card. When I told her to cancel the card, she stated that I had to do it by calling the number on the disclosure statement; which also is a fee, so I did. The Customer Service representative stated that the Credit Union had to initiate the cancellation. What a mess! Now I have to wait until I get the card to cancel. I will send a letter to Customer Service for the card to cancel it and to not disclose any of my information. Iâm so upset at myself for trusting them!

3 PINLESS VISA transactions $342 hit my checking acct. 17Dec11 before their Fraud Dept caught the 4th attempt. 19Dec11 I filed a dispute. Provisional credit not provided until 28Dec11 followed by a letter stating they had up to 90 days to rescind the credit depending on their investigation and what the merchants determine. That is not good customer support and does not instill confidence to me as a member. I will never have another VISA check card with them. I've been their customer for 10 years+ and first problem ever with this crime committed by someone in another state that somehow got my numbers to make their own card.

I've been a customer for 10 years and have an auto loan through them. The customer service at the main office gets worse every month. (On Ft. Huachuca it's pretty good.) Checks dropped in the night deposit may or may not be collected the next day. Phone support is practically non-existent. The online bill-pay is unreliable - you have to constantly check to make sure the scheduled payments are actually sent out, and when they're not the CU can't help directly because they don't run the software. I have to maintain at least a savings account with a $5 balance until the car is paid off. Another 4 months and it's all mine, and they are history.

The loan officers at Southwest Credit Union were very inexperienced, every time we have purchased a vehicle in the past 4 years, there is a new staff of employees, handling the loan process. Does the Union not pay people enough money to stay? Very disappointed with the service and the loose ends caused unnecessarily by unqualified staff and their attitudes. Really need to revamp their department and give additional training to their staff, before they actually work with clients. The only saving grace for this branch is the competitive loan rates. Where are the supervisors??
