Our air conditioner stopped cooling, called one of Bergs competitors and while they were prompt and courteous, they told us the compressor was completely shot and needed to be replaced. They recommended replacing the entire unit for $3795. I called Bergs for a second opinion. They were at my house in 30 min. and had the "shot" A/C compressor running in 15 min. Bergs recommended a complete service and said there was no reason to replace the unit right now, but it should be considered within the next few years. I'm not going to state the name of the other company, but they are a "chain" franchise operation and while it's possible that they made a "mistake", I believe they were attempting to sell us an expensive A/C system, instead of trying to get ours running.Bergs made a customer for life out of me. I'll never call the "other guys" again.

I had another company in town come out when my furnace wasn't working and after I had to pay for two service calls and the problem was not resolved. I called Berg's and they came out fixed the problem and charged me 1/2 what the other company charged. That summer I had a problem with the a/c part of my system and I called Berg's again. They got me temporary cooling for no charge until a new system was installed. They answered all my questions regarding why I needed a new system and it was installed a week later. I have actually saved a significant amount of money now that I have a better and newer system in and this winter I saved on my heating bill. They answered all my questions and did not mix words at all. I would recommend them to anyone.

Provided by YP.comI live outside the city area and called around looking for a company that didn't charge a travel fee. When I called Berg's, the 2nd question I asked was if they had a travel fee. The woman asked if I lived "past the Y." I was not familiar where the "Y" was and gave my address and directions. I was told no travel fee would apply. When I received the job ticket, it had a "Travel" fee of $60. I called the woman back and asked about the travel fee. She said the travel fee applied to all areas past "the Y." I asked where the Y was and she said the intersection of Hwys 82/83 - out at Sonoita. It was apparent this woman had no idea of the highway numbers at a given location.
She said I could talk to the Serv Mgr, who was out at the time. I waited for a call back, but didn't hear anything. I called back again, left a msg and still no call back. When I called back a 3rd time, the Serv Mgr - in a nutshell - told me: too bad.
If a company makes a mistake, I think the comp should admit their error and fix the problem. I give Berg's an F for customer service and slap myself for not listening to those who told they had problems with Berg's in the past.
