I was scheduled a 1030 appointment with Nationwide Vision in Sierra Vista, Arizona for 7/29/2015. I did the scheduling online and was contacted by a very nice representative who asked me to fill out all the paperwork online prior to coming to expedite the experience. So I did. I printed out 4 forms and filled all of them out the day of my appointment. This was the first time I'd ever had an experience with Nationwide Vision. I wanted to give them a try since they say they have a large selection of frames. When I showed up at Nationwide Vision (around 1024), the receptionist asked if she could help me. I told her I had a 1030 appointment. Her face got red and she raised her voice and said “I cannot see you today. You were supposed to be her at 1000 for paperwork purposes”. I showed her my completed paperwork and told her I was not told I needed to show up 30 minutes early for my appointment. Her body language suggested she did not believe. She then said “I will not fit you in today because you were late for the paperwork”. I said “Thank you very much” and left. First off, I would have been annoyed to have to show up 30 minutes early for an appointment, but would have done so if I had been told too. Second off, I can't think of a time I was treated so badly by a receptionist at a medical center. She seemed really upset when I got there “late”, then did not seem to believe me that I was never told to show up 30 minutes early, then happy to tell me for the second time that she would not see me because I was late. I will never give Nationwide Vision another shot at having me as a customer. I couldn't tell you about the doctor experience, or the selection of frames, or the care in ensuring everything fits properly as I never got that far.

When my daughter received her glasses, the woman at the counter handed my daughter her glasses and walked away. Confused and floored, I followed the woman and asked her if the glasses are not fitted to the person's face so that one can properly SEE with them? Her response was, "No. They fit." and continued to walk away! I told her I was not leaving until someone fit the glasses onto my 9 year-old daughter's face. With a huff and an attitude appropriate for a street gang, not a so-called professional establishment, she took the glasses, put them on my daughter's face and said, "They fit!" My daughter said, "No. They do not fit. They are bending my ears forward and it hurts." They glasses obviously did not fit my daughter’s face; the rims were too large and the part of the frame that sits on the side of the face and behind the ears was too short and did not reach my daughter’s ears. I gave the heavy set, Caucasian, unprofessional woman with the long, straight, brown pony tail my attitude and told her, "Fix it or return my money NOW." They heavy set, long, brown haired woman twisted and turned the glasses, gave them to my daughter and walked away. I asked my daughter to go outside, I walked over to the animal who described herself as an employee, whispered into her ear and left. Do NOT bring your children here to be mistreated! One star because there is nothing lower that is available to choose from.

Never again

The place looks very professional on the inside, but don't let that fool you. My apt was at 230, I went in at 2 to fill out the paperwork, and wasn't seen until 3. I paid $260 for a new pair of frames (which were only $30 over my insurance coverage), lenses, and new lenses for my sunglasses. AND they let me use tricare for my sunglasses lenses. My insurance information had to be manually entered because they switched systems and hadn't added my insurance carrier yet, and then had to hand calculate all the totals and percentages of discounts. I ended up standing at the front desk for over an hour. My glasses came in within a couple days, and didn't have the anti glare coating, so I sent them back to have it put on. That cost me and extra $100! I was told that my sunglasses would come in within 10 business days, and I didn't get them for 16. They don't fit my face the same, which is understandable because they put new lenses in, but the woman wouldn't even attempt to bend them for me because she didn't want to break them. They also feel like the wrong prescription. They're making me dizzy and queasy. I've been wearing glasses since I was in 5th grade and I've never had a problem with adjusting to new lenses. I paid over $350 to them and I really wish I would have gone somewhere else. I do not recommend this place to anyone, whatsoever.

UPDATE--As if all the scrap I dealt with wasn't enough, I took the sunglasses back, because they felt like the wrong prescription and damn lenses wouldn't stay in.... a different Dr checked my eyes again and told me that the other Dr got my prescription wrong.... so they had to send the sunglasses back, and since my glasses still weren't in, they would have to wait for those to come in so they can just send them back to get those lenses fixed as well..... I moved to CA and they said that they would mail them to me when they came in. I finally called them after 2 weeks, and they said that my sunglasses came in, and my glasses came in with only ONE lense having the anti glare coating! So they sent them back.... I have to wait a few days to speak with the manager, but I am going to demand a full refund. I HATE this place!

This place is a joke!

Waited an hour and a half for my appointment, worst customer service in town. They scratched, gouged, and crammed a wrongly cut lens into a brand new $150 pair of frames I bought. I took them back and asked that they replace the lens and frames. Well, a month and a half later after they lost the only good lens and crammed yet another wrongly cut lens into the frames. I finally got them. Except it was the SAME frames I asked to be replaced. The same scratches, gouges, everything. On top of the ridiculously stupid and oblivious front desk employees. I will NEVER go here again. Do yourself a favor and go some where else. This vision center is worth no more than the garbage inside it.
