The Sierra Vista Police Department protects and serves the citizens of Sierra Vista, Ariz. Its administrative division manages department finances and provides services related to records maintenance and statistical tracking. The department also has patrol, detective and animal control bureaus. The Sierra Vista Police Department s community-oriented programs include Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) and Gang Resistance Education and Training. Its animal control bureau is responsible for the impoundment, kenneling and processing of stray, unwanted and dangerous animals. The department also manages a volunteer group that assists with clerical functions. The Sierra Vista Police Department has more than 65 sworn police officers and over 35 civilian employees.
