ADRA, also known as Adventist Development and Relief Agency, is a global humanitarian organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Founded in 1956, it is one of the leading nongovernmental relief organizations in the world. The organization works to identify and address social injustice and deprivation aspects in developing countries. It offers food security, economic development, primary health care and basic education services. The organization also provides emergency management solutions for disaster survivors. It has a staff of more than 3,500 individuals, as well as offers support services in over 120 countries. The organization builds health clinics and promotes the awareness of worldwide humanitarian needs. ADRA has been granted the General Consultative Status by the United Nations.
