Northwood High School, located in Silver Spring, Md., offers an extensive curriculum for the students in grades nine. The school has an enrollment of more than 300 students and is governed by the Montgomery County Public Schools. The school offers various subjects, including English, language arts science, social studies, mathematics, and health and physical education. In addition, it offers foreign language, career and technology education, environmental and systems sciences, politics, advocacy and law, art and media, drama, dance, fine arts and music classes. The school offers a wide range of sports activities that include baseball, basketball, volleyball, football, soccer, softball, ice hockey, swimming and diving, lacrosse, tennis, weight lifting, wrestling, cross country, and track and field. Northwood High School also has a parent-teacher student association.
