Located in Silver Spring, Md., Sligo Middle School is a coeducational school that serves more than 500 students in grades six through eight and offers a wide variety of extracurricular and academic programs. Its academic curriculum includes English, science, mathematics, arts, physical education, social studies and foreign languages. The middle school provides a wide variety of facilities and services, including a health room, library, cafeteria, summer mentoring, transportation, playing fields, lockers, health screening and laboratories. It has a television studio that includes more than two cable channels and provides a broadcast from WSLI Sligo News. The school also offers various programs and extracurricular activities, including drama, yearbook, computer, homework, environmental, math and reading clubs. Sligo Middle School is operated by Montgomery County Public Schools.
