My husband and I recently moved to the mountains and can only have mail delivered to a PO box. We made four trips to this post office over a 10 day period. First trip we were told no boxes were available; check back the next week which we did. Still no boxes available, however, if we came the next Wednesday, they'd have a box for us. Each of these visits, we explained that in order to prove our residency, we HAD to have a mailing address and until we had a post office box we had no proof of residency...and secondly, our mail from another state couldn't be forwarded until we had one. On the appointed Wednesday, we made our THIRD trip to this post office. Sorry. No boxes were released - even though we were assured there would be a box for us that day. At this point my husband got upset...Mary, the clerk in the back came out and had words with him which was OK. However, it had been 10 days since our first trip and we were told there WOULD be a box that day. All kinds of excuses; understaffed; have to get the first class mail boxed because that is most important (like ME receiving my first class mail isn't important??) blah blah. However, she did say she was staying 2 hours over on Saturday and would have a box for us on Monday....Monday, I go back and guess what? No box! Didn't have time to release them...same old story...understaffed, too busy...didn't promise they'd have one on Monday...oh yes they did promise - and the male clerk explaining how wrong I was to expect a post office box said "I'm telling you what I tell everyone - stop back Wednesday to check and see if we have any boxes." No promises this time...just another "come on back and we'll tell you we still don't have any..." SO frustrating! To be jerked around and not have an address for 2 weeks is beyond absurd. I've given up on this post office. Dillon CO issued us a box that same day...although they also said they didn't have any--HOWEVER, upon hearing our story, the clerk told us to wait and he personally would make sure we had one - which he did. I prefer paying an annual rate at the Dillon post office than not pay and have to deal with Silverthorne employees. I hope to never step foot in the Silverthorne Post office again.

Rudest people you could imagine. The lady with the long dark hair yelled at me for taking 2 priority mail boxes to use for shipping which I needed!! Going to start using UPS for all shipments now, people need a smile and a thanks for your business attitude at the post office, no wonder they're going down the tubes.

My son is currently living in Silverthorne. I have posted his birthday present from overseas, which apparently is undeliverable ?? I have no idea why....anyway, my son has gone in every day and asked and the very unkind and rude lady has refused to look out the back for it. We know it is there. I wonder how she would feel if she had spent time and money to get a gift to a loved on on time for their special day to be greeted by her unkind and lazy attitude. My son is being too polite! I am phoning tomorrow from overseas! Thankyou to the person who put that phone number in their feedback...I hope it works!

This post office has the most ...

This post office has the most incompetent workers i have ever known. A month ago i request to put my name on my fiances po box because in the mountains, we dont have home delivery. She copped an attitude but i didnt care, i give people the benefit of the doubt. I repeatedly ask her if i needed to fill anything out but she insisted i bring in my fiance and driver's license. i did 2 minutes later as he works next store. I show her my id, she writes my name on the back of an envelop. About a week late i apply for my passport and intended to send it to my new po box. They send out the passport a week later and its resent back to the agency. She never put me in the system to receive mail at this location, she did not do her job. So we go back, fully do the change of address and im thinkin i will get my passport in no time. . By this time i have a 13 days to get passport in time to travel to canada. My passport gets sent back to the agency a second time because they did not label my box with my last name. their refusal to even research why this piece of certified was sent twice to that location or even look to see if that mail goes in that box is despicable. All the while i was given no result, not even a sorry. Lazy, thoughtful workers. I have submitted 2 formal complaints againt this location They dont know whose life they screwed up and they dont even care because their job sucks so much so they dont even do it. I now have a few days left before i travel abroad and i need to drive a 100 miles to get my passport at will call. I hope this institution goes bankrupt. by the way, their direct number is 970-468-2050 as it seems to be a secret.

The idots in this place gave a computor I sent to my Grand daughter to a man whose signature and PO Box # were no where close to the address on the package. I tried to call the Silverthorne branch using the number listed on the USPS site and got a busy signal all day. Obviously the listed number is wrong. USPS complaint link didn't work so I waited 35 minutes on hold on their 800 # to only get a USPS person who acted like they couldn't care less. Can't image the nightmare I"ll face trying to collect on the insurance I have on the package. Meanwhile the Silverthorne Police are trying to find the dirtbag that would steal a little girls computer. Time to dissolve the USPS and let private enterprize do the job.
