In 2001 our office opened as a We The People franchise store.  In 2004 the current owner, Marian Gorman, managed the office.  In 2006 she became the owner.  In 2009, the We the People franchise closed and we now operate as an independent document preparation center now known as By the People. Marian has been working with attorneys and independently in the state of California for 20 years. Her experience includes but is not limited to, estate planning, probate, conservatorship and family law.

By The People specializes in pro se (for yourself) legal representation. As bonded and registered legal document assistants, BTP helps people properly represent themselves in uncontested legal issues. The owners of BTP - Marian and Jim Gorman - have 10-years residency in Simi Valley. They have the trusted hands-on and community experience to help you help yourself. By The People Document Preparation Center aims to provide accurate document assistance, in a relaxed atmosphere at reasonable prices.
