Dr. Mei received his medical degree from Tongji Medical University in 1961 and served as doctor-in-charge at Hubei Jingshan County Hospital in China. He also performed post-graduate work at the American University of Chinese Health in Los Angeles, is certified by the state of California, and is also a member of the California Acupuncture Medicine Association. Dr. Mei has been featured in several publications including the L.A. Times, ran clinics in Simi Valley, Canoga Park and Los Angeles and has practiced acupuncture for over 40 years.
