Provided by YP.comI brought a sport coat to Sandy's business in order to tailor its sleeves. The business mentioned that they were limited in their abilities to tailor sport coats. However, adjusting the sleeve length of a sport coat would be within their capabilities.
After wearing the sport coat for a couple of outings, I felt that it needed additional adjustments in the upper back and neck region. I decided to consult another tailoring business in Sioux Falls due to the fact that Sandy's had already mentioned their skill limitations with sport coats.
The owner of the other tailoring business felt that the work performed by Sandy's on my coat's sleeves was simply "wrong." The owner has a particular customer that brings in very expensive sport coats for adjustments. If the owner performed similar work on his sport coats, the customer would be very unhappy with the workmanship of the finished item.
The sleeve work performed by Sandy's on my sport coat is permanent. It cannot be undone. Therefore, I am left with a reminder that it is best to consult more than one tailor prior to making adjustments to cherished clothing items.

Provided by YP.comThey do wonderful and, even more important to me, quality work. They are honest about all parts of the alterations process, and about what they can actually make your clothes do. When i asked at my fitting if i could have the dress taken in even more through the hips and body, they were very polite and explained that while they could do what i wanted they would recommend against it since i looked great standing, but could not sit down because the dress would be too tight. they even took the time to mock pin the dress to show me. Very Wonderful People. This is the only alterations shop i recommend!

Provided by YP.comI will never go back to sandy's again! I dont know where to begin, my experience was so awful here. first of all, I am not the type to complain about customer service, i have worked customer service for years of my life and i know how difficult it can be.
I had to make 3 trips to sandy's to get my bridesmaid dress right. my dress was a whole size too big (i ordered it right after i had a baby) so it did need a bit taking in. but sandy didnt want to take it in. she overreacted about the dress not fitting me right, and called me overweight, and continued to comment about how it didnt fit me like the other bridesmaids. after all that, all she did was take in the bust area an inch and sew my cups in wrong so the whole top laid funny.
needless to say, after the 3 weeks she had it at her shop to alter it, i had to bring it back in a second time. when i tried it on for her, she accused me of flipping out about the fit of the dress, when i hadnt said anything at all! after i asked her to take the dress in more around the hips, waist and bust, she told me i better stop having kids if i want her to do that! wow, right!? she still didnt want to take the derss in anymore, so she didnt do anything to it. she told me to come in the monday before the wedding and she would alter it then and get it to me in time. after i expressed my hesitancy for this, since the wedding is out of town, she assured me she would have it done.
the third time i brought the dress in the monday before the wedding, she rolled her eyes and sighing heavily at me continualy during the time she was pinning the dress to alter it the way i originally wanted her to. then she was obviously upset with me when i told her i needed it by wed, when she was the one who told me to come in a few days before the wedding!
so i do NOT recommend sandy's alterations! if you skim the rest of that because its too long, just know, she is rude and has no customer service skills at all! she was demeaning and i will not step foot in her shop again.
I regret that I cannot please everyone. People are always entitled their impressions of how things are done. Saying that one is called "fat" when they are told that they may lose more of their baby weight before an event and please return shortly before said event for a final fitting is not intended to insult. It is a practical way to insure the best fit possible. Individual preferences are allowed for. This individual is not the first to rant about my rather point blank method of dealing with customers. My apologies if she has suffered emotional damage from this incident. I don't like being lambasted by customers behind my back. She received more than $20 in alterations at no cost to her. We do aim to please. One way or another. We just prefer not to be walked all over. Sincerely, Sandy's Alterations
