Frey Lumber Company has been in business for more than 50 years. Emanuel Frey began the business in 1949. He then turned it over to his son, James E. Frey Sr., who then, in 1994, added Frey Pallet Corporation and made his son James E. Frey Jr. a partner, thus making the company Frey Lumber Company and Frey Pallet Corporation. Combined, the companies have 50 employees. Frey Lumber harvests its own timber using its own certified timber crew. The timber that it harvests is turned into mulch, sawdust and blocking for coal mines and steel mills. The company also sends wood to the furniture industries. Frey Lumber is located in Smithfield, Pa.
