Bought a minn kota terrova trolling motor short of year ago, i sold that boat but kept trolling motor, bought a bennington pontoon an put on front of pontoon. Hooked it all up but found that Smithville had changed female end of trolling motor at time i purchased it so as to match plug on original boat. Never mentioned anything to me about that exchange. I purchased another plug from local dealer to supposily match plug that was on trolling motor. Anyway, the reason i purchased said trolling motor from Smithville Marine was the fact that they are a Authorized Service Dealer. Meaning they are responsible for in shop warranty work. I could not get my trolling motor to work, thinking it must be the trolling motor, so i drove back to Smithville for them to check out my trolling motor seeing as though they are a Authorized Service Dealer. They didnt even check it out, they immediately shipped it to St Lois where they get there work done, got it back week later only to find out i had to pay a $105.00 shipping fee. Here i thought they were the ASD. They didnt even put a finger on it to see if there was a problem before they shipped it off. Got it back only to find out it still wasnt working. The paperwork from St Louis didnt describe what they found wrong, if any thing. I called Brad, shop mgr, an yes they would let me know, been 3-4 weeks now an no word from them. I would suggest going somewhere else if you want good common service. If they are that busy, then they dont need my business.SORRY SORRY SERVICE

Took a mercury 25 horse outboard for a tuneup and they replaced the water pump. Upon going home and putting in water barrel water pump did not work. Had to pay for another new one and seals and they REFUSED to back their work. They do not know how to fix boat motors and will not refund even a portion of their work. To make matters worse they question our integrity. Take your boat elsewhere if you want it fixed properly. Or if you do take it there expect the repair to fail and them to not guarantee any work
