The Katy House Bed & Breakfast is a hidden central Texas gem located in downtown Smithville, Texas. This historic property is home to 6 individual guest rooms with private bathrooms, filled with luxurious amenities. All 6 guest rooms are spread across the property in both the main house and separate cottages. In the main house, three guest rooms can be reserved, all of which are named after the Katy Railroad passenger trains: the Bluebonnet, Katy Limited, and the Texas Special. Steps away from the back porch of the main house, we have three private cottages tucked away: The Garden Cottage, Conductor’s Quarters Cottage, and the Katy Tower Cottage. Smithville, Texas is only a 45-minute drive from Austin, Texas, and 1.5 hours from Houston or San Antonio, Texas. Wonderfull B&B, great location

This is a place that I've wanted to visit for a long time--just looked interesting, so I just planned a weekend and we hopped on the Harley and came to Smithville. When we told people we were going to "Smithville", they asked "WHY--What's in Smithville?" Now we can say that we have two new friends - Sallie & Bruce and that they totally made us feel at home even before we arrived. The breakfast is fabulous and not at all "FOO-FOO" like so many B & B's. And yes, if you go away hungry, it's certainly your own fault! Now when we see a UP train pass, Michael wonders if Bruce is in the engine and he commented the other day that of all the B & B's we've been to, this is the one that he will definetly return to.
