Dr. Francisco Cardenas is Board Certified in Gastroenterology in both the United States and Mexico. He has been in practice since 1981. He has a special interest in IBD, IBS, and Esophageal Disorders. Dr. Cardenas received his Medical Degree with honors from the National Autonomous University in Mexico City, Mexico. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Illinois Medical Center, West Side VA Hospital, and Lutheran General Hospital. Dr. Cardenas has co-authored several publications and is a member of the American College of Physicians, Cobb County Medical Society, Georgia Gastroenterological Society, Atlanta Gut Club, Cobb County Medical Society, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Gastroenterological Association.
