Provided by YPmobileI called in today with a tooth infection.Without insurance I was quite nervous over the cost, but needed some medicine for my infection. They offered to bring me in for the emergency visit, costing $1. I figured, well ya don't get something for nothing so I figured I would go and figure it out anyway. I was blown away by how nice and thorough all of the staff were. I mean blown away. The doctor took time to explain my options for treatment and I left with a script, and only spent $1! They are going to by my new dentist as my insurance kicks in in a few months. I highly recommend Dr. Knox for all of your dental needs!

Provided by YP.comI had been going to them for about a year, getting periodic cleanings to get my gums back in shape. They suggested that I have an old filling I had since I was a child removed since it was cracking. They recommended I replace it with a crown versus another filling since the tooth was cracked. I always ask the cost when i am with them since finances are difficult. I do have insurance, but it does not pay the entire bill. They wrote up the estimate for me and we were able to figure that I would pay a portion that I felt I could pay. The insurance carrier would take care of the rest (so the dentist office claimed). After the procedure, I get a bill from the dental office. The insurance company was only wanting to pay for a filling, claiming that a filling would have sufficed. After about 4 months of back and forth with the insurance comapny and dental office, I was stuck with about $350 in addition to what we had agreed would be my payment. I felt this to be very unfair. The dental office didn't care and just wanted it's money.
I am not saying they are out to stick it to every patient out there. I just know I got the bad end of things. The dental office was only concerned about their money, the insurance company was only concerned about not having to pay out money. And no one was looking out for my interests.
If you decide to use this dental office out of the many other dentists in the area, just be cautious. It is a shame they chose $325 over a client. With the added work they wanted from me, they lost out of much more than that.
Second Posting: I submitted a review on Village Crest Family Dental. Apparently, there is a new dentist in town. Although, it is still operated under the same dental group that operates numerous offices. The new dentist did call me to discuss my review. She did try to negotiate a solution to regain my business and to take down the negative review. I declined to continue business with them. I stand by my negative review as it is stated. But, I wanted to be fair and say that the new dentist is a stand up person for calling me and discussing what happened. It was only because of the power of the internet (about the only power we consumers have left with businesses now days) that I received the phone call from the dentist. Nevertheless, she did call and I give her credit for taking that action. So, if you wish to give them a chance, good for you. I will say, the dental service I received under the old staff was outstanding. Not too keen on the new desk personnel today. Just be cautious.
